Zurig 80mg 30s Tab (Febuxostat) is a non-purine selective inhibitor of xanthine oxidase, the enzyme responsible for the conversion of hypoxanthine to xanthine and xanthine to uric acid. By inhibiting xanthine oxidase, febuxostat reduces the production of uric acid, leading to lower serum uric acid levels.
Store at room temperature (20°C to 25°C), protect from moisture, and keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.
The usual starting dose is 40 mg once daily.
The dose may be increased to 80 mg once daily if needed, based on the physician's assessment of the patient's uric acid levels and response to treatment.
