This combination drug works through multiple mechanisms. Aceclofenac inhibits prostaglandin synthesis, reducing inflammation and pain. Paracetamol reduces fever and pain through a less understood mechanism, possibly involving inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes in the central nervous system. Cetirizine blocks histamine receptors, relieving allergic symptoms. Phenylephrine acts as a decongestant by constricting blood vessels in the nasal passages. Caffeine's role is to potentially enhance the analgesic effects of aceclofenac.
