Cefoperazone Sodium

This is the active ingredient, a cephalosporin antibiotic.

Treatment of various bacterial infections, including lower respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis), intraabdominal infections (peritonitis), gynecological infections (pelvic inflammatory disease), skin and soft tissue infections, and bacteremia (bloodstream infections).

Treatment of infections caused by susceptible gramnegative and some gram-positive bacteria.

Zopef Inj 2gm (Cefoperazone Sodium) inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. It achieves this by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are essential for bacterial cell wall synthesis.

Store at controlled room temperature 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Protect from light and moisture. Discard any unused portion after the expiration date.

Dosage is determined by the severity of the infection, the patient's age, weight, and renal function. Always follow your doctor's prescription.

Cefoperazone sodium is typically administered intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM).

Do not stop taking the medication prematurely even if symptoms improve. Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed.
