A dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (dpp-4) inhibitor.
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone are insufficient to achieve adequate glycemic control.
Remogliflozin etabonate works by blocking the reabsorption of glucose in the kidneys, leading to increased glucose excretion in the urine and lower blood sugar levels. Teneligliptin increases levels of incretin hormones, which stimulate insulin release and suppress glucagon secretion, further contributing to blood sugar control.
Store the medication at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
The recommended starting dose is one tablet taken once daily with or without food.
Your doctor will adjust the dosage based on your individual needs and response to treatment.
Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet. Swallow it whole with a glass of water.
It's important to take the medication as prescribed by your doctor.
Common side effects include urinary tract infections, vaginal yeast infections, and headache.
Serious side effects can include dehydration, low blood sugar, and ketoacidosis (a serious condition that can lead to coma).
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following: severe abdominal pain, persistent nausea or vomiting, rapid breathing, confusion, or drowsiness.
It is generally safe to consume alcohol in moderation while taking this medication. However, excessive alcohol consumption can increase the risk of low blood sugar.
This medication does not typically affect alertness or reaction time. However, if you experience any side effects that could impair your ability to drive or operate machinery, avoid these activities.
This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. It is unknown if it passes into breast milk. Consult with your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking this medication while breastfeeding.
This medication is not approved for use in children.
Caution is advised for patients with kidney disease. Your doctor may adjust the dosage.
This medication is not recommended for patients with severe liver disease.
