Risperidone

An atypical antipsychotic medication that works by blocking dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain.

Trihexyphenidyl

An anticholinergic medication that helps to reduce the muscle stiffness and tremors associated with parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.

Treatment of schizophrenia in adults and adolescents (13 years and older).

Treatment of manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder in adults and adolescents (10 years and older).

Treatment of irritability associated with autistic disorder in children (5 years and older).

Management of extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) caused by antipsychotic medications, such as tremors, muscle stiffness, and restlessness.

Risperidone primarily blocks dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain, helping to reduce the symptoms of psychosis, such as hallucinations and delusions. Trihexyphenidyl blocks acetylcholine receptors, reducing the involuntary movements caused by dopamine receptor blockade.

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Keep out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage of risperidone and trihexyphenidyl is individualized based on the patient's condition and response to treatment.

It is typically taken by mouth, once or twice daily.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and do not change your dosage without consulting with your doctor.

Do not stop taking this medication abruptly without talking to your doctor.

Prolonged erection (priapism)

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol while taking this medication as it may increase the risk of drowsiness and dizziness.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you. This medication may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Risperidone and trihexyphenidyl may pass into breast milk and harm a nursing infant. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking this medication while breastfeeding.



Children

This medication is not approved for use in children younger than 5 years old.



Kidney

Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems.



Liver

Tell your doctor if you have liver problems.
