Both Zeriphyllin Syrup (Etofylline + Theophylline) are methylxanthines. They work by relaxing the smooth muscles in the airways, thereby widening the airways and improving airflow to the lungs. This effect is achieved by inhibiting phosphodiesterase, leading to increased intracellular cAMP levels.

Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any medication past its expiration date.

Dosage is determined by a physician based on individual factors including age, weight, and disease severity.

Medication may be administered orally (tablets, capsules, liquid) or intravenously (in hospital settings).

Children

Dosage needs to be adjusted based on the child’s weight and other factors. Pediatric use should be under strict medical supervision.



Kidney

Kidney disease may affect the elimination of theophylline, potentially leading to its accumulation and increased risk of side effects. Dosage adjustment may be needed.



Liver

Liver disease may also affect the metabolism of theophylline. Dosage adjustment may be required. Liver function should be monitored regularly.
