Amoxicillin

A penicillin-type antibiotic that fights against bacteria.

Treatment of bacterial infections of the middle ear (otitis media), sinuses (sinusitis), lungs (pneumonia), skin and skin structures, urinary tract infections, and other susceptible bacterial infections.

Treatment of infections caused by bacteria resistant to amoxicillin alone.

Amoxicillin interferes with bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamases, enzymes produced by bacteria that inactivate amoxicillin, thereby extending the antibiotic's effectiveness against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria.

Store at room temperature (20°C-25°C) or in a refrigerator (2°C-8°C). Protect from light and moisture. Discard any unused portion after the expiry date.

Dosage will be determined by a doctor based on the patient's age, weight, and the severity of the infection.

The medication is usually administered orally, via a spoon or oral syringe, following the prescribed dosage regimen. Never exceed prescribed dosage.

Complete the entire course of medication even if symptoms improve to prevent relapse.

Consult a doctor before using during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Amoxicillin/clavulanate is generally considered safe in pregnancy and breastfeeding, but potential risks should be discussed with a healthcare professional.



Children

Dosage is adjusted according to the child's weight. Always follow doctor's instructions.



Kidney

Dose adjustment may be necessary for patients with impaired kidney function.



Liver
