A statin medication that lowers ldl ('bad') cholesterol and triglycerides.
A fibrate medication that lowers triglycerides and raises hdl ('good') cholesterol.
Mixed dyslipidemia (high cholesterol and triglycerides) that is not adequately controlled with diet and exercise alone, especially when high triglycerides are present.
Patients with significantly elevated triglycerides and a risk of pancreatitis.
Atorvastatin inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis in the liver, leading to reduced LDL cholesterol production. Fenofibrate activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR-α), which increases the breakdown of triglycerides and improves HDL cholesterol levels.
Store at room temperature (20-25°C), away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
Dosage should be determined by a physician based on individual needs and response to treatment.
Generally, the combination of Atorvastatin and Fenofibrate is started at lower doses and gradually increased as needed.
Take as directed by your doctor, usually once daily, with or without food.
Muscle aches and pains (myalgia), including rhabdomyolysis (rare but serious)

Limit alcohol intake as it can increase the risk of liver damage and interact with both medications.

Not typically used in children unless specifically prescribed by a doctor.
Caution is advised in patients with kidney disease. Dosage adjustments may be necessary.
