Ceftriaxone

A broad-spectrum antibiotic belonging to the cephalosporin class.

Tazobactam

A beta-lactam inhibitor that protects ceftriaxone from being broken down by certain bacteria.

Treatment of severe bacterial infections, including:

Pneumonia

Skin and skin structure infections

Bone and joint infections

Intra-abdominal infections

Septicemia (blood infection)

Meningitis

Gonococcal infections

Ceftriaxone works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall, leading to bacterial death. Tazobactam prevents certain bacteria from inactivating ceftriaxone, enhancing its effectiveness.

Store the medication at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. Do not use the medication after the expiry date mentioned on the label.

The dosage and frequency of administration depend on the type and severity of the infection, the patient's age, and overall health.

It is typically administered intravenously or intramuscularly.

Always follow your doctor's instructions carefully regarding dosage and frequency.

Do not stop taking the medication before completing the prescribed course, even if you feel better.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed dose.

Injection site pain or swelling

Increased liver enzymes

Yeast infection

Allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication as it may increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

This medication may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or confusion. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Ceftriaxone + Tazobactam should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks to the fetus. It is not recommended for use during breastfeeding unless the benefits outweigh the risks to the infant.



Children

The dosage for children is based on their age and weight. It is important to follow your doctor's instructions carefully.



Kidney

Patients with kidney problems may need dose adjustments. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney problems.
