Hydrochlorothiazide

A thiazide diuretic that helps your body get rid of excess salt and water.

Olmesartan Medoxomil

An angiotensin ii receptor blocker (arb) that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)

May be used alone or in combination with other medications to control blood pressure

Hydrochlorothiazide increases the excretion of sodium and water in the urine, reducing blood volume and pressure. Olmesartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels. The combined effect lowers blood pressure more effectively than either drug alone.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Dry cough (less common with ARBs compared to ACE inhibitors)

Hypotension (low blood pressure)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness. Limit alcohol intake while taking this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you. Dizziness and lightheadedness are possible side effects.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or are planning to breastfeed.



Children

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.



Kidney

Use caution in patients with impaired kidney function. Your doctor may adjust your dosage.



Liver

Use caution in patients with impaired liver function. Your doctor may adjust your dosage.
