Chlordiazepoxide

Chlordiazepoxide is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs known as benzodiazepines.

Xide 25mg Tab (Chlordiazepoxide) works by enhancing the effects of a neurotransmitter called GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) in the brain. GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, meaning it helps to calm and relax the brain and nervous system.

Store chlordiazepoxide at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage of chlordiazepoxide will vary depending on the individual and the condition being treated.

It is typically taken by mouth, usually 1-3 times a day.

Your doctor will determine the best dosage and frequency for you.

Alcohol Consumption

While Driving or Operating Machinery

Chlordiazepoxide can impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Chlordiazepoxide can harm an unborn baby. Do not use it during pregnancy unless your doctor advises it. It can also pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Talk to your doctor about whether it's safe for you to breastfeed while taking this medication.



Children

Chlordiazepoxide is not generally recommended for children. It may be used in some cases, but only under the supervision of a doctor.



Kidney

If you have kidney disease, your doctor may need to adjust your dosage of chlordiazepoxide.



Liver

If you have liver disease, your doctor may need to adjust your dosage of chlordiazepoxide.
