This combination medication works by targeting different aspects of cold and flu symptoms. Chlorpheniramine blocks histamine, reducing runny nose and sneezing. Dextromethorphan suppresses the cough reflex. Guaifenesin thins mucus, aiding expectoration. Phenylephrine constricts blood vessels, relieving nasal congestion.
