Waltryp 25mg Tab (Amitriptyline) is a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA). It works by increasing the levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain. These neurotransmitters are involved in regulating mood, sleep, and pain perception.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.
Dosage is determined by a healthcare professional and varies depending on individual needs and condition.
Usually started at a low dose and gradually increased as tolerated.
Taken orally, typically once or twice daily, usually at bedtime to minimize daytime drowsiness.
Never abruptly stop taking amitriptyline without consulting your doctor.
Orthostatic hypotension (sudden drop in blood pressure upon standing)
In rare cases: seizures, serious heart problems

Alcohol should be avoided or consumed in moderation as it can enhance the sedative effects of amitriptyline.
Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how amitriptyline affects you, as it can cause drowsiness and impair judgment.
Consult your doctor before taking amitriptyline if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. It can cross the placenta and enter breast milk.
