Norethisterone

Is a synthetic progestin (a type of female hormone).

Treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding (menorrhagia or metrorrhagia).

Contraception (when combined with estrogen in oral contraceptive pills).

Treatment of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

Vynor Cr 15 Tablet (Norethisterone) works by mimicking the effects of progesterone, a natural hormone involved in the menstrual cycle. It primarily acts by suppressing ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary) and thickening the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to reach the egg.

Store norethisterone tablets at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Norethisterone tablets are typically taken by mouth, with or without food.

Serious side effects, such as blood clots, stroke, heart attack, or liver problems, can occur but are rare.

Nausea, vomiting, bloating, breast tenderness, weight gain, mood changes, headache, and fatigue.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of certain side effects, so it's best to limit alcohol intake while taking norethisterone.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Norethisterone can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision, so avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience these symptoms.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Norethisterone is not safe for use during pregnancy. It can cause birth defects. It's also not recommended for breastfeeding women, as it can pass into breast milk.



Children

Norethisterone is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Norethisterone may not be suitable for people with kidney problems. Your doctor will need to adjust the dose accordingly.



Liver

Norethisterone may not be suitable for people with liver problems. Your doctor will need to adjust the dose accordingly.
