Vortioxetine Tablets 20mg (Vortioxetine) is a serotonin modulator and stimulator (SMS). It works by increasing the levels of serotonin in the brain, a neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood, sleep, appetite, and other functions. Vortioxetine has multiple mechanisms of action, including: Serotonin reuptake inhibition: Like other antidepressants, it blocks the reabsorption of serotonin in the brain, leading to increased serotonin levels. Partial agonist at 5-HT1A receptors: This activity helps to reduce anxiety and improve mood. Antagonist at 5-HT3 receptors: This action is thought to contribute to the anti-nausea effects seen with vortioxetine. Antagonist at 5-HT7 receptors: This activity may play a role in improving sleep and cognitive function.

Store vortioxetine at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage of vortioxetine will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and response to treatment.

It is usually taken once daily, with or without food.

Do not stop taking vortioxetine suddenly without talking to your doctor. This can increase your risk of experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

While Driving or operating Machinery

Vortioxetine may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

It is not known if vortioxetine is safe for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor about the potential risks and benefits before taking this medication.



Children

Vortioxetine is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

If you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose of vortioxetine.



Liver

If you have liver problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose of vortioxetine.
