Metformin

A medication that belongs to a class of drugs called biguanides. it helps control blood sugar levels by improving the body's response to insulin.

Voglibose

A medication that belongs to a class of drugs called alpha-glucosidase inhibitors. it works by slowing down the breakdown of carbohydrates in the intestines, which helps to reduce the rise in blood sugar levels after meals.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus: Metformin + Voglibose is commonly used in combination to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Prevention of type 2 diabetes: This combination may also be used in individuals at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Voglikem M 0.3 Forte Tab (Metformin + Voglibose) work synergistically to lower blood sugar levels. Metformin increases insulin sensitivity and reduces hepatic glucose production, while Voglibose delays carbohydrate absorption from the gut.

Store Metformin + Voglibose at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children.

The dosage of Metformin + Voglibose is individualized and should be determined by a healthcare professional.

It is typically taken with meals, usually three times daily.

Start with a low dose and gradually increase it as tolerated.

Lactic acidosis (rare but serious): A buildup of lactic acid in the blood, particularly in individuals with kidney disease.

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) if taken with other diabetes medications

Gastrointestinal side effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating

Alcohol Consumption

While Driving or Operating Machinery

Metformin + Voglibose may cause dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when starting treatment. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Metformin + Voglibose is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential risks to the fetus or infant. Consult with a healthcare professional.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of Metformin + Voglibose in children have not been established.



Kidney

Caution is required in individuals with kidney disease, as Metformin can accumulate in the body and increase the risk of lactic acidosis.



Liver

Metformin is primarily metabolized by the kidneys. While it is generally safe in individuals with mild liver disease, it may need to be adjusted in those with severe liver impairment.
