Voglibose

Voglibose is the active ingredient in the medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called alpha-glucosidase inhibitors.

Voglibose is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus.

It helps to control blood sugar levels by slowing down the breakdown of carbohydrates in the gut.

Voglicor 0.3mg Tab (Voglibose) works by inhibiting the activity of alpha-glucosidase enzymes in the small intestine. These enzymes are responsible for breaking down complex carbohydrates into simpler sugars that are then absorbed into the bloodstream. By inhibiting these enzymes, voglibose slows down the absorption of glucose, leading to a lower rise in blood sugar levels after meals.

Store voglibose at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it in its original container.

The usual starting dose of voglibose is 0.3 mg three times daily, taken with the first bite of each main meal.

The dosage may be adjusted by your doctor based on your response to the medication.

Take voglibose exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than prescribed.

Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets. Swallow them whole with a glass of water.

The most common side effects of voglibose are gastrointestinal problems, such as diarrhea, flatulence, and abdominal pain.
