Vivax 50mg Tab (Amitriptyline) is a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA). It works by increasing the levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain. These neurotransmitters play a crucial role in mood regulation and pain perception. The exact mechanism by which it alleviates pain isn't fully understood but is likely related to its effects on neurotransmitter systems.

Store at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after its expiration date.

Dosage is determined by a physician based on the individual's condition and response to treatment.

Start with a low dose and gradually increase as directed by your doctor.

Take as prescribed, usually once or twice daily, at bedtime to minimize daytime drowsiness.

Do not stop taking amitriptyline suddenly without consulting your doctor. Withdrawal symptoms may occur.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol should be avoided or severely limited while taking amitriptyline as it can increase the risk of drowsiness and other side effects.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how amitriptyline affects you, as it can cause drowsiness and blurred vision.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should only be considered if the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Discuss with your doctor.



Children

Use in children is generally limited to the treatment of enuresis (bedwetting) and should be under strict medical supervision. Not commonly used for depression in children.



Kidney

Dosage adjustment may be necessary in patients with kidney impairment. Consult your doctor.
