Fenofibrate

Fenofibrate is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called fibrates.

Fenofibrate is used to lower high cholesterol levels in adults with high cholesterol and other risk factors for heart disease, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of heart disease.

It is also used to prevent heart attacks and strokes in people with high cholesterol.

Vat F Tab (Fenofibrate) works by lowering the levels of triglycerides (a type of fat) and cholesterol in the blood. It does this by increasing the activity of an enzyme called lipoprotein lipase, which breaks down triglycerides.

Store fenofibrate at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep it in the original container.

The dose of fenofibrate will vary depending on your individual needs. It is important to take the medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Fenofibrate is typically taken once a day, with or without food.

The most common side effects of fenofibrate include nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, and constipation.

Some people may also experience muscle pain, weakness, or tenderness.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of side effects from fenofibrate.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Fenofibrate may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

It is not known if fenofibrate is safe for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Fenofibrate is not approved for use in children.



Kidney
