An angiotensin ii receptor blocker (arb) that helps relax blood vessels.
A thiazide diuretic that increases urine production to lower blood pressure.
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), often used when singledrug therapy is insufficient.
May be used in patients with heart failure to reduce the risk of hospitalization.
Valsartan blocks the effects of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels. Hydrochlorothiazide increases the excretion of sodium and water, reducing blood volume and pressure. The combination provides a synergistic effect, lowering blood pressure more effectively than either drug alone.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.
Dosage is determined by a physician based on individual needs and response.
It's typically taken once daily, with or without food.
Do not crush or chew the tablets; swallow them whole.
Dry cough (less common with ARBs than ACE inhibitors)

Muscle cramps
Electrolyte imbalances (potassium, sodium)
Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling)
Alcohol can increase the risk of dizziness and low blood pressure. Limit alcohol intake while taking this medication.
May cause dizziness or lightheadedness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Not recommended during pregnancy. Consult your doctor immediately if you become pregnant while taking this medication. Use is generally not recommended during breastfeeding. Discuss risks and benefits with your doctor.

Use with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dosage adjustments may be necessary.
