Cephalexin

A cephalosporin antibiotic that fights bacteria.

Probenecid

A medication that helps your body get rid of certain substances, including uric acid, by blocking the kidneys from reabsorbing them.

Treating certain bacterial infections, particularly those caused by bacteria susceptible to cephalexin.

Used in combination with cephalexin to increase its effectiveness by preventing its breakdown in the body.

Cephalexin works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall, leading to cell death and inhibiting bacterial growth. Probenecid blocks the reabsorption of cephalexin by the kidneys, increasing its concentration in the body and improving its effectiveness in fighting the infection.

Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not use after the expiration date.

The dosage of Cephalexin + Probenecid varies depending on the severity of the infection, the patient's weight, and other factors. Your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate dose for you.

The medication can be taken orally, usually with a full glass of water, with or without food.

Follow the instructions provided by your healthcare provider carefully.

Less common side effects: Headache, dizziness, yeast infection, vaginal itching or discharge.

Common side effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, rash.

Serious side effects: Allergic reaction (hives, swelling, difficulty breathing), kidney problems, liver problems.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Cephalexin + Probenecid, as it can increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Consult your healthcare provider before taking Cephalexin + Probenecid if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

This medication is not recommended for children under 12 years old.



Kidney

This medication is not recommended for patients with severe kidney problems.



Liver

This medication is not recommended for patients with severe liver problems.
