Clavulanic Acid

A beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from being broken down by certain enzymes produced by bacteria, enhancing its effectiveness.

Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamases, enzymes produced by bacteria that inactivate amoxicillin. This combination allows amoxicillin to effectively target a wider range of bacteria, including those resistant to amoxicillin alone.

Store at room temperature (below 25°C/77°F). Protect from moisture and direct sunlight. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

Dosage will vary depending on the individual's age, weight, and the specific infection being treated. Always follow your doctor's instructions precisely.

The medication is usually taken orally, with or without food.

Complete the entire course of antibiotics, even if you start feeling better before the medication is finished. Stopping early can lead to recurrence of the infection and the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
