Telmisartan

Telmisartan is the active ingredient in medications containing this drug formulation.It belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs).

High blood pressure (hypertension)

Reducing the risk of stroke in patients with high blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy (thickening of the heart's main pumping chamber)

Reducing the risk of cardiovascular death, stroke, and heart attack in patients with high blood pressure and a history of heart attack or stroke.

Ulitel 40mg Tablet (Telmisartan) works by blocking the action of a hormone called angiotensin II. Angiotensin II causes blood vessels to narrow, which increases blood pressure. By blocking angiotensin II, telmisartan helps to relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure.

Store telmisartan tablets at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Keep them in a dry place and away from light. Protect from moisture.

The dosage of telmisartan will vary depending on your individual needs and condition.

Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage and frequency of administration.

Telmisartan tablets should be taken with a glass of water.

You can take telmisartan with or without food.

Rare but serious side effects include angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat), kidney problems, and low blood pressure.

Common side effects include dizziness, headache, fatigue, and muscle cramps.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of dizziness and low blood pressure. Avoid or limit alcohol intake while taking telmisartan.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Telmisartan may cause dizziness. Be cautious while driving or operating machinery, especially until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Telmisartan is not recommended for use during pregnancy as it can harm the developing fetus. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Consult your doctor regarding breastfeeding as telmisartan may pass into breast milk.



Children

Telmisartan is not recommended for children under 18 years of age.



Kidney

If you have kidney problems, your doctor may adjust the dosage or monitor you closely.



Liver

If you have liver problems, your doctor may adjust the dosage or monitor you closely.
