Ambroxol increases the production of surfactant in the lungs, helping to thin mucus. Guaifenesin increases the volume of respiratory tract secretions, making it easier to expectorate. Terbutaline acts on beta-2 adrenergic receptors in the bronchi to cause relaxation and dilation, relieving bronchospasm.
