Glimepiride

A sulfonylurea drug that stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin.

Metformin

A biguanide that improves insulin sensitivity and reduces glucose production by the liver.

Rosiglitazone

A thiazolidinedione (tzd) that improves insulin sensitivity by acting on cells' insulin receptors.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults where diet and exercise alone have not achieved adequate glycemic control.

Specifically used in patients who require a combination therapy to manage their blood sugar levels effectively.

This combination medication works synergistically. Glimepiride increases insulin secretion, Metformin enhances insulin sensitivity and reduces hepatic glucose production, and Rosiglitazone improves insulin sensitivity at the cellular level. This combined action helps to lower blood glucose levels.

Store at room temperature (20-25°C) away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after its expiration date.

Dosage should be determined by a physician based on individual needs and response.

It is usually taken orally with meals.

Weight gain (Rosiglitazone): Fluid retention is possible.

Gastrointestinal issues (Metformin): Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

Allergic reactions: Rash, itching, swelling.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycemia and should be limited or avoided, especially with Glimepiride.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Hypoglycemia can impair judgment and coordination. Avoid driving or operating machinery if experiencing low blood sugar symptoms.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Use is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor immediately.



Children

Not indicated for use in children.



Kidney

Caution is required in patients with kidney disease. Metformin may need to be adjusted or avoided altogether.



Liver

Regular monitoring of liver function is necessary, particularly when using Rosiglitazone.
