In some cases, pentoxifylline may be used to treat other conditions, such as diabetic retinopathy and sickle cell disease, but these uses are less common.

Trental 400mg Tab (Pentoxifylline) works by reducing the stickiness of red blood cells, making it easier for them to flow through blood vessels. It also helps to relax the muscles in the walls of blood vessels, further improving blood flow.

Store pentoxifylline at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it out of reach of children.

The dosage of pentoxifylline will vary depending on the individual patient and the condition being treated.

It is usually taken by mouth, three times a day with food.

It is important to take pentoxifylline exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Do not stop taking pentoxifylline without talking to your doctor, even if you feel better.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

More serious side effects can occur, such as bleeding, liver problems, and heart problems. These are rare, but it is important to be aware of them.

The most common side effects of pentoxifylline include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and stomach pain.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol consumption while taking pentoxifylline, as it can increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Pentoxifylline can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Pentoxifylline should not be used during pregnancy unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks. It is not known whether pentoxifylline passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding while taking this medication.



Children

Pentoxifylline is not recommended for use in children.



Kidney

Pentoxifylline may be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Your doctor may adjust the dosage or monitor you more closely.
