Haloperidol Decanoate

Is the main ingredient. it's a long-acting injectable form of haloperidol, a butyrophenone neuroleptic (antipsychotic).

Treatment of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders in patients who have responded to oral haloperidol and require longterm maintenance therapy.

Management of acute exacerbations of schizophrenia in patients already stabilized on oral haloperidol.

Trancodol Inj 1ml (Haloperidol Decanoate) blocks dopamine D2 receptors in the brain, reducing the positive symptoms of psychosis like hallucinations and delusions. Its long-acting nature provides sustained therapeutic effects.

Store at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). Protect from light. Do not freeze. Discard any unused portion after the expiry date.

Dosage is individualized and determined by a physician based on the patient's response to oral haloperidol and clinical condition.

Administered intramuscularly by a healthcare professional.

Initial doses are typically lower and adjusted gradually based on clinical response and tolerance.

Extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) such as Parkinsonism, akathisia, dystonia, and tardive dyskinesia.

Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS): a rare but serious condition requiring immediate medical attention.

Sedation, drowsiness.

Orthostatic hypotension.

Weight gain.

Cardiac arrhythmias (rare).

Allergic reactions (rare).

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can potentiate the sedative effects of haloperidol decanoate. Avoid or limit alcohol consumption.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery until the effects of the medication are known. Drowsiness and impaired judgment can occur.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is generally avoided unless the benefits clearly outweigh the risks. Consult a doctor immediately if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Not usually recommended for children unless explicitly indicated and under strict medical supervision.



Kidney

Renal impairment may require dosage adjustments. Discuss with your doctor.
