Tolvaptan

Tolvaptan is the active ingredient in medications used to treat certain conditions.It is available in various forms like tablets, capsules, or oral solutions.

Hyponatremia (low sodium levels in the blood), especially in patients with heart failure.

Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion (SIADH) – a condition where the body produces too much antidiuretic hormone.

Tolvamac 15mg Tab (Tolvaptan) works by blocking the action of vasopressin (antidiuretic hormone) in the kidneys. This helps the body get rid of excess water and increase sodium levels in the blood.

Store tolvaptan tablets or capsules at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

The dosage and frequency of tolvaptan will be determined by your doctor based on your individual condition.

It is typically taken orally with or without food.

Do not crush or break the tablet or capsule unless instructed by your doctor.

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking tolvaptan if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not recommended for pregnant women.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of tolvaptan have not been established in children.



Kidney

Tolvaptan is not recommended for people with severe kidney problems.



Liver

Tolvaptan should be used with caution in people with liver problems.
