Tobramycin

Is an aminoglycoside antibiotic.

Treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible strains of aerobic gramnegative bacteria.

Treatment of infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, and intraabdominal infections.

Treatment of certain types of bacteremia (bacteria in the bloodstream).

Treatment of eye infections (ophthalmic formulations only).

Tobraneg 20mg Inj (Tobramycin) inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, leading to misreading of mRNA and ultimately bacterial cell death. It is bactericidal (kills bacteria).

Store at controlled room temperature 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Protect from light and moisture. Discard any unused portion after the expiration date.

Dosage is determined by the physician based on the severity of the infection, patient's weight, kidney function, and other factors.

Tobramycin can be administered intravenously or intramuscularly.

Ophthalmic formulations are administered topically to the eye.
