Tiapride

Tiapride is the active ingredient in medications containing this drug formulation.It belongs to a class of drugs known as antipsychotics, specifically a dopamine antagonist.

Tiapride is primarily used to treat acute and chronic psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia and other delusional disorders.

It may also be used for the management of behavioral problems in individuals with dementia, particularly agitation and aggression.

Tiaprex 50mg Tab (Tiapride) works by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter involved in regulating mood, behavior, and thought processes. By reducing the activity of dopamine, tiapride helps to control the symptoms of psychosis, such as hallucinations and delusions.

Store tiapride at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage of tiapride will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and medical condition.

It is typically taken by mouth, with or without food.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully regarding the dosage and frequency of administration.

Do not stop taking tiapride abruptly without consulting your doctor.

Common side effects of tiapride include drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth, and weight gain.

Alcohol Consumption

While Driving or operating Machinery

Tiapride can cause drowsiness and dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Tiapride is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor before using this medication.



Children

Tiapride is not typically prescribed for children.



Kidney

Tiapride can be adjusted based on kidney function. Your doctor may need to monitor your kidney function while taking this medication.
