Mycosis fungoides (a type of skin lymphoma)

Thalon 100mg Tab (Thalidomide) works by interfering with the growth and development of abnormal cells. It is thought to do this by modulating the immune system and inhibiting the production of certain proteins involved in inflammation.

Store thalidomide at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children.

The dosage of thalidomide will vary depending on the condition being treated and the individual patient's needs.

It is usually taken by mouth, once daily, with or without food.

It is important to follow your doctor's instructions carefully and take the medication exactly as prescribed.

Do not stop taking thalidomide without talking to your doctor first.

Peripheral neuropathy (numbness or tingling in the hands and feet)

Deep vein thrombosis (blood clots in the legs)

Nausea

Drowsiness

Constipation

Diarrhea

Headache

Birth defects (if taken during pregnancy)

Skin reactions (rash, itching, hives)

Liver problems

Depression

Suicidal thoughts

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the risk of side effects from thalidomide. It is best to avoid alcohol while taking this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Thalidomide can cause drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Thalidomide is extremely dangerous during pregnancy and can cause severe birth defects. Women of childbearing potential must use effective contraception while taking thalidomide. Thalidomide can also pass into breast milk and may harm a breastfeeding baby. Consult your doctor about the risks and benefits of breastfeeding while taking thalidomide.



Children

Thalidomide is not typically used in children, as it can cause serious side effects.



Kidney

If you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your thalidomide dose.



Liver

If you have liver problems, your doctor may need to adjust your thalidomide dose. Thalidomide can also cause liver damage.
