Azilsartan Medoxomil

Azilsartan medoxomil is the active ingredient in the medication.It is a type of medication known as an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB).

High blood pressure (hypertension)

To reduce the risk of stroke in patients with high blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy (thickening of the heart muscle).

Tenarbi 80 Tablet (Azilsartan Medoxomil) works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to narrow. By blocking this hormone, azilsartan medoxomil helps to relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure.

Store at room temperature, between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F). Protect from light and moisture.

The dosage of azilsartan medoxomil is determined by your doctor based on your individual needs.

It is usually taken once a day, with or without food.

Do not crush, break, or chew the tablets. Swallow them whole with a glass of water.

It is important to take azilsartan medoxomil regularly as prescribed by your doctor, even if you feel well.

Do not stop taking azilsartan medoxomil without talking to your doctor.

Common side effects include dizziness, headache, and fatigue.

Less common side effects include cough, diarrhea, and upper respiratory tract infection.

Serious side effects are rare but can occur. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following: angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat), rash, itching, difficulty breathing, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, or swelling of the legs or feet.

Alcohol Consumption

Drinking alcohol while taking azilsartan medoxomil may increase the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Azilsartan medoxomil may cause dizziness, so it is important to avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Azilsartan medoxomil is not recommended for use during pregnancy. It is unknown if azilsartan medoxomil passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking this medication while breastfeeding.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of azilsartan medoxomil in children have not been established.



Kidney

Azilsartan medoxomil should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems.



Liver

Azilsartan medoxomil should be used with caution in patients with liver problems.
