Efavirenz

A non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (nnrti) that prevents hiv from multiplying.

Lamivudine

A nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (nrti) that interferes with the production of hiv dna.

Tenofovir

A nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (nrti) that blocks the enzyme hiv needs to replicate.

Treatment of HIV1 infection in adults and children.

This combination drug works by targeting the HIV virus at different stages of its replication cycle. Efavirenz inhibits the viral reverse transcriptase enzyme, preventing the conversion of viral RNA into DNA. Lamivudine and tenofovir, as NRTIs, also inhibit the viral reverse transcriptase enzyme but by a different mechanism, stopping the incorporation of viral DNA into the host cell's DNA. This combined action effectively blocks the HIV virus from multiplying and spreading throughout the body.

Store the medication at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. Do not flush unused medication down the toilet or pour it into a drain. Dispose of it properly.
