Gefitinib

Gefitinib is the active ingredient in the drug formulation.It belongs to a class of medications called tyrosine kinase inhibitors.

Gefitinib is used to treat nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in patients whose tumors have a specific genetic mutation called EGFR.

Telista Tab (Gefitinib) works by blocking the activity of a protein called epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). This protein plays a role in the growth and spread of cancer cells. By inhibiting EGFR, gefitinib helps to slow or stop the growth of cancer cells.

It is typically taken once daily by mouth with or without food.

Alcohol Consumption

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Gefitinib can harm an unborn baby. It is not known if gefitinib passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking gefitinib if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.



Children

Gefitinib is not approved for use in children.



Kidney
