Finasteride: A medication that belongs to a class of drugs called 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. It works by reducing the production of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which can contribute to an enlarged prostate.

Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as enlarged prostate.

Improvement of urinary symptoms associated with BPH, such as frequent urination, difficulty starting urination, and weak urine stream.

Tamsulosin and finasteride work together to improve urinary symptoms associated with BPH. Tamsulosin relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate. Finasteride reduces the size of the prostate by decreasing the production of DHT, a hormone that contributes to prostate growth.

Store the medication at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. Do not flush unused medication down the toilet or pour it into a drain. Dispose of the medication properly.

The usual dosage of Tamsulosin + Finasteride is one capsule taken once daily, preferably at the same time each day.

The dosage may be adjusted by your doctor based on your individual needs and response to treatment.

It is important to take the medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more or less of it than prescribed, and do not stop taking it without talking to your doctor.

Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, runny nose, and stuffy nose.

Less common side effects may include back pain, fatigue, and decreased libido.

Serious side effects, while rare, may include allergic reactions, low blood pressure, and difficulty breathing.

Alcohol Consumption

Drinking alcohol while taking Tamsulosin + Finasteride may increase the risk of side effects such as dizziness and lightheadedness.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Tamsulosin + Finasteride can cause dizziness, so it is important to avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how the medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Tamsulosin + Finasteride is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Finasteride can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant.



Children

Tamsulosin + Finasteride is not recommended for children.



Kidney

People with kidney problems may need a lower dose of Tamsulosin + Finasteride.



Liver

People with liver problems may need a lower dose of Tamsulosin + Finasteride.
