An alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocker.
A 5α-reductase inhibitor.
Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with moderate to severe symptoms.
Reduction in the risk of acute urinary retention and the need for BPHrelated surgery in men with moderate to severe symptoms.
Tamsulosin relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, improving urine flow. Dutasteride reduces the size of the prostate by inhibiting the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that contributes to prostate growth.
Store at room temperature (20-25°C), away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
The usual dose is one capsule (containing Tamsulosin 0.4mg + Dutasteride 0.5mg) once daily.
Take the capsule with or without food.
Do not crush or chew the capsule.
Dizziness
Headache
Nasal congestion
Retrograde ejaculation (reduced or absent ejaculate)
Erectile dysfunction
Decreased libido
Gynecomastia (breast enlargement rare)
Hypotension (low blood pressure)
May increase the risk of dizziness or lightheadedness. Moderate alcohol consumption should be discussed with your doctor.
May cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Not for use in women. Dutasteride can cause birth defects in male fetuses.
Not indicated for use in children.
Use with caution in patients with moderate to severe kidney impairment. Dosage adjustment may be necessary.
Use with caution in patients with liver impairment. Dosage adjustment may be necessary.
