Tamsulosin

Tamsulosin is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called alpha-blockers.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as enlarged prostate.

To improve urinary flow and reduce symptoms like frequent urination, weak stream, and difficulty starting urination.

Tamcontin 0.2mg Tab (Tamsulosin) works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier for urine to flow out.

Store at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

The usual starting dose is 0.4 mg once daily.

Your doctor may adjust your dose based on your response to the medication.

Take this medication with a full glass of water, preferably with meals.

Do not crush or chew the capsules.

Dizziness

Runny nose

Drowsiness

Fatigue

Nasal congestion

Back pain

Ejaculatory dysfunction

Priapism (prolonged erection)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can worsen some side effects of tamsulosin, such as dizziness.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.



Children

Tamsulosin is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Caution is advised if you have kidney problems.



Liver

Caution is advised if you have liver problems.
