Bicalutamide

Bicalutamide is the active ingredient in the medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called nonsteroidal antiandrogens.

Treatment of advanced prostate cancer.

Used in combination with other therapies, such as surgery or radiation.

Do not crush, break, or chew the tablets.

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water.

Hot flashes.

Loss of libido.

Breast enlargement (gynecomastia).

Fatigue.

Nausea.

Diarrhea.

Liver problems (rare).

Increased risk of blood clots (rare).

Alcohol Consumption

While Driving or Operating Machinery

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Bicalutamide is not intended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is unknown if bicalutamide passes into breast milk.



Children

Bicalutamide is not intended for use in children.



Kidney

People with kidney problems may need a lower dose of bicalutamide.



Liver

Bicalutamide can affect the liver, and it should be used with caution in people with liver problems.
