Lactulose

Is a synthetic disaccharide, a type of sugar. it's not absorbed in the upper gastrointestinal tract.

Treatment of constipation.

Reduction of blood ammonia levels in patients with hepatic encephalopathy (liver failure).

Syslac 10gm Syrup (Lactulose) works by drawing water into the colon, softening the stool and increasing its bulk. This makes it easier to pass. In hepatic encephalopathy, it helps to lower blood ammonia levels by trapping ammonia in the gut and promoting its excretion in the stool.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage is determined by your doctor and depends on your condition and response to treatment.

It is usually taken once or twice daily.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Do not increase the dose or frequency without consulting your doctor.

Consult your doctor before using lactulose during pregnancy or breastfeeding.



Children

Dosage must be adjusted according to the child's age and weight.



Kidney

Generally safe for patients with kidney disease but should be used with caution and under medical supervision.

Crucial for patients with liver disease; dosage should be carefully monitored by a physician.
