Sucralfate

Sucralfate is the active ingredient in sucralfate medications.It is a non-absorbable, aluminum-containing compound.

Treatment of active duodenal ulcers.

Prevention of duodenal ulcers in patients taking nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Sucrafirst 1000mg Syrup (Sucralfate) works by forming a protective barrier over the ulcerated area in the stomach or duodenum. It binds to the ulcer site, creating a protective layer that prevents further damage from stomach acid and pepsin.

Store sucralfate at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it in its original container.

Dosage varies depending on the condition being treated and the individual patient.

Typically, the recommended dose is 1 gram four times daily, taken one hour before meals and at bedtime.

Take sucralfate as directed by your doctor.

Swallow tablets whole with a full glass of water.

Do not chew or crush sucralfate tablets.

Constipation.

Diarrhea.

Nausea.

Vomiting.

Dry mouth.

Headache.

Dizziness.

Weakness.

Black, tarry stools.

Abdominal pain or discomfort.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol while taking sucralfate, as it can increase the risk of stomach irritation and ulcers.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Sucralfate may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking sucralfate.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of sucralfate in children have not been established.



Kidney

Patients with severe kidney disease should use sucralfate with caution.



Liver

Patients with liver disease should use sucralfate with caution.
