Sucrafil Susp 450ml (Sucralfate) works by forming a protective barrier over ulcers and erosions in the gastrointestinal tract. It binds to the positively charged proteins at the ulcer base, creating a protective layer that prevents further damage from stomach acid and pepsin. It does not neutralize acid directly.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep the medication out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.
Dosage varies depending on the condition being treated and the patient's age and health. Always follow your doctor's prescription and instructions carefully.
Generally taken several times a day, usually before meals and at bedtime. Take with a full glass of water.
Do not crush or chew tablets.
For suspensions, shake well before each dose.

Sucralfate is not metabolized by the liver, so liver impairment typically does not require dose adjustment.
