Minoxidil

Minoxidil is the active ingredient in most formulations.Specific formulations may contain additional ingredients like propylene glycol, ethanol, or water as carriers or solvents.

Treatment of androgenetic alopecia (male and female pattern hair loss)

Treatment of moderate to severe hypertension (high blood pressure) – This use is less common now with newer antihypertensive agents

For hair loss: Stonark 12.5% Lotion 60ml (Minoxidil)'s exact mechanism isn't fully understood, but it's believed to prolong the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle and increase hair follicle size. For hypertension: Minoxidil opens potassium channels in vascular smooth muscle cells, leading to vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) and lowering blood pressure.

Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

For hair loss: Typically applied topically to the scalp twice daily. The specific dose and formulation (liquid, foam) should be determined by a doctor.

For hypertension: Oral administration, dosage strictly determined by a physician and individualized based on blood pressure response.

Topical application (hair loss): Irritation, redness, itching of the scalp, unwanted hair growth on the face or other areas.

Oral administration (hypertension): Dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, swelling in the hands and feet, rapid heartbeat, weight gain, fluid retention, chest pain.

Alcohol Consumption

May increase the risk of hypotension (low blood pressure), especially with oral minoxidil. Consult your doctor.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid operating machinery until you know how minoxidil affects you. Dizziness and lightheadedness are possible side effects, particularly with oral use.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically prescribed by a doctor due to potential risks to the fetus or infant.



Children

Use in children is generally not recommended except under specific circumstances and strict medical supervision.



Kidney

May need dosage adjustments for those with impaired kidney function. Renal function should be monitored.



Liver

May need dosage adjustments for those with impaired liver function. Liver function should be monitored.
