Salmeterol

Salmeterol is a long-acting beta2-agonist medication.It is typically combined with other medications, such as fluticasone, for the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Prevention of bronchospasm in patients with asthma.

Longterm control of symptoms in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

May be used as addon therapy to inhaled corticosteroids in patients with asthma.

Serobid Rotacaps (Salmeterol) works by relaxing the muscles in the airways, making it easier to breathe. It does this by stimulating beta2-adrenergic receptors in the lungs, leading to bronchodilation.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight.

Dosage varies depending on the individual patient and the specific condition being treated.

Salmeterol is typically inhaled using a metered-dose inhaler (MDI) or a dry powder inhaler (DPI).

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully regarding dosage and frequency of administration.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid excessive alcohol consumption as it can worsen the side effects of salmeterol.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Salmeterol may cause dizziness or lightheadedness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Salmeterol should only be used during pregnancy if the benefits outweigh the potential risks. It is unknown if salmeterol passes into breast milk, so discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor before breastfeeding.



Children

Salmeterol is not typically recommended for children under 4 years of age.
