Travoprost

Travoprost is the active ingredient in the medication.It is a prostaglandin analog, a type of medication that mimics the actions of natural substances in the body.

Travoprost is primarily used to treat openangle glaucoma, a condition that increases pressure within the eye.

It can also be used to lower eye pressure in patients with ocular hypertension, a condition where the pressure inside the eye is higher than normal but not high enough to cause glaucoma.

Sclerost Eye Drops 3ml (Travoprost) works by increasing the outflow of fluid from the eye, thereby lowering intraocular pressure. It does this by relaxing the ciliary muscle, which helps to open up the drainage channels in the eye.

Store Travoprost at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F).

Protect the medication from light and moisture.

Keep the medication out of reach of children and pets.

Do not use Travoprost if the solution is cloudy or discolored.

Dispose of the medication properly when it expires or is no longer needed.

Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them down the drain unless instructed to do so.

Travoprost is typically administered as eye drops once a day, at bedtime.

The exact dosage will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs.

Wash your hands thoroughly before administering Travoprost.

Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a pouch.

Place one drop of Travoprost into the pouch.

Close your eye for one to two minutes after administering the medication.

Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any other surface.

After using Travoprost, cap the bottle tightly.

The most common side effect of Travoprost is eye irritation, which may include redness, burning, itching, and stinging.

Other possible side effects include:

• Conjunctivitis (inflammation of the conjunctiva, the clear membrane covering the white part of the eye)

• Eye pain

• Blurred vision

• Changes in eye color

• Headache

• Skin discoloration around the eye

• Dry eyes

• Increased eyelash growth

Alcohol Consumption

While there is no known interaction between Travoprost and alcohol, it is generally advisable to avoid alcohol while using any eye medication, as it can potentially affect vision.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Travoprost may cause blurred vision, especially after administration. Do not drive or operate machinery until your vision is clear.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Travoprost is not recommended for pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers, as its safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established.



Children

Travoprost is not recommended for use in children unless otherwise directed by a doctor.



Kidney & Liver

Travoprost is primarily used to treat conditions affecting the eyes and is not known to have any significant effects on the kidneys or liver. However, always inform your doctor about any pre-existing kidney or liver conditions before using Travoprost.
