Salicylic acid is the active ingredient in many over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription medications.It is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) with anti-inflammatory and keratolytic properties.Salicylic acid is available in various forms, including topical creams, lotions, gels, shampoos, and oral medications.

It can also reduce the production of oil (sebum) in the skin, which helps to prevent acne breakouts. When taken orally, salicylic acid also reduces inflammation and pain in the body by inhibiting the production of certain chemicals.

Store salicylic acid medications in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
