Treatment of acute diarrhea in adults and children over 3 months of age.
Saldot 100mg Cap (Racecadotril) is a selective inhibitor of enkephalinase, an enzyme that breaks down enkephalins. Enkephalins are natural pain-relieving substances that also play a role in regulating intestinal motility. By inhibiting enkephalinase, racecadotril increases the levels of enkephalins in the gut, which helps to reduce diarrhea by slowing down intestinal transit time and reducing fluid secretion.
Store at room temperature (15-30°C). Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
The dosage of racecadotril varies depending on age and severity of diarrhea.
Adults and children over 12 years: 100mg three times daily.
Children 3 months to 12 years: Dosage is based on body weight and should be determined by a healthcare professional.
Take the medication with or without food.
The duration of treatment should not exceed 3 days without consulting a doctor.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
