Ipratropium Bromide

Is an anticholinergic medication that helps to open up the airways in the lungs.

Treatment of reversible bronchospasm associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

Treatment of bronchospasm associated with asthma

Prevention of exerciseinduced bronchospasm

This medication works by relaxing the muscles in the airways, making it easier to breathe. Ipratropium bromide blocks the action of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that causes the muscles in the airways to contract. Levosalbutamol stimulates beta-2 receptors in the lungs, which also leads to relaxation of the airway muscles.

Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused portion after the expiration date.

The usual dose for adults is 2.5 ml inhaled twice daily.

The dose may be adjusted by your doctor based on your individual needs.

Do not take more than the prescribed dose.

Use this medication exactly as directed by your doctor.

Rapid heartbeat

Increased blood pressure

Alcohol Consumption

It is generally safe to consume alcohol while taking this medication, however, it may make you feel drowsy or lightheaded.



While Driving or operating Machinery

This medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefits outweigh the risks. It is not recommended for use during breastfeeding.



Children

This medication is not generally recommended for children unless directed by a doctor.



Kidney

Patients with kidney disease may need a lower dose of this medication.



Liver

Patients with liver disease may need a lower dose of this medication.
