Safinamide

Is the active ingredient in the medication.

Safinamide is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, specifically for improving motor symptoms.

It can be used alone or in combination with other medications for Parkinson's disease.

Safion 50 Tab (Safinamide) works by increasing the levels of dopamine in the brain, a neurotransmitter that helps control movement. It does this by inhibiting the breakdown of dopamine, as well as by increasing the release of dopamine.

Store safinamide at room temperature, between 68°F and 77°F (20°C and 25°C). Keep it in its original container, tightly closed, and out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage of safinamide will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and medical history.

It is typically taken once daily with or without food.

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water.

Do not crush, break, or chew the tablets.

The most common side effects of safinamide include dizziness, nausea, constipation, and fatigue.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid consuming alcohol while taking safinamide, as it can increase the risk of side effects.



Driving or operating Machinery

Safinamide can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Safinamide is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits.



Children

Safinamide is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, as safinamide may need to be adjusted.



Liver

Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, as safinamide may need to be adjusted.
