Store risperidone at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
The dosage of risperidone will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and medical history.
Risperidone is usually taken once or twice daily with or without food.
It is important to take risperidone exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking it without talking to your doctor.

Alcohol can increase the sedative effects of risperidone. It is advisable to avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication.
Risperidone can cause drowsiness and dizziness. It is not advisable to drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Risperidone should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefits outweigh the risks to the fetus. It is not known if risperidone passes into breast milk. If you are breastfeeding, talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking risperidone.
Risperidone is not typically used in children under the age of 13. However, it may be prescribed for children with autism spectrum disorder who are at least 10 years old.
Risperidone may need to be adjusted in patients with kidney problems.
