Repaglinide is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus (noninsulin-dependent diabetes).

It helps control blood sugar levels in adults.

Renide 0.5mg Tablet (Repaglinide) is a meglitinide analog that stimulates the release of insulin from the pancreas. It works by increasing the sensitivity of the beta cells in the pancreas to glucose, leading to a greater release of insulin in response to elevated blood sugar levels. This helps to lower blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Store repaglinide at room temperature, between 68-77°F (20-25°C). Protect it from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep repaglinide and all medications out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage of repaglinide varies depending on individual needs and response to treatment.

Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage for you.

Repaglinide is typically taken 15-30 minutes before a meal.

It should be taken with food to help prevent low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).

While Driving or operating Machinery

Repaglinide can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Repaglinide may harm an unborn baby. It's not recommended for use during pregnancy. It's also not known if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor about the risks and benefits of using repaglinide while breastfeeding.



Children

Repaglinide is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Patients with kidney disease may need to adjust their dosage of repaglinide.



Liver

Repaglinide can cause liver problems. Your doctor may need to monitor your liver function while you're taking this medication.
